Taipei 101

Taipei 101 is the tallest building in Taipei and the world! As its name suggests, it has 101 floors and is visible throughout the city. Here's a view of it from near my apartment...

Most of the building is office space, but the first four floors are an elegant (=expensive) mall:



On the fourth floor is the largest English language bookstore in Taipei and in the basement is an international grocery store where I found dried kidney beans and chickpeas (at $4.50 per 1 pound bag!...). At least I'm now getting enough protein without resorting to too much soy. :)
